RightMinds Wins Three “Best of Virginia” Awards for Dominion’s “Project Plant It!”
 Richmond, VA (December 2007) – RightMinds, a Richmond-based integrated marketing agency, has won three prestigious “Best In Virginia” Awards from the International Association of Business Communicators (IABC) Richmond Chapter, for its work on Dominion’s “Project Plant It!” Dominion, one of the nation’s largest producers and transporters of energy, retained RightMinds to create the program as well as partnerships with local schools in order to teach third graders about the value of trees in our ecosystem. RightMinds created an extensive teachers kit with a full curriculum and teaching materials for 354 participating classrooms in 85 schools. More than 7,000 students participated and nearly 3,000 trees were planted as part of the educational program. An extremely effective media relations program netted more than 500,000 media impressions and a RightMinds-developed website (www.projectplantit.com) received thousands of visits.
“Project Plant It!” was recognized as the top entry in the categories of Community Relations, Media Relations, and Economic, Social and Environmental Development. The awards were presented to the RightMinds/Dominion team at the IABC’s annual “Best in Virginia” Communication Awards Dinner held on December 6th. “Project Plant It!” was managed by RightMinds account manager Chris DeRoco.
